Ethnocultural values are the basic unit within a people, which is distinguished from its environment by its specific historical tradition, culture, way of life, social organisation or language. In the present analysis, we will undertake an evaluation of the ethnocultural characteristics of the most western and multi-ethnic region of Ukraine, Transcarpathia, and the ethnic groups living within it, and the main focus here will be on evaluating how these values are present today and how they are mostly marketed within tourism. We then turn to an analysis of South Tyrol in Italy, often referred to as a tourist paradise. We can see some parallels between the two areas: both are on the periphery of the country, different nationalities live side by side, its mountainous area offers wonderful attractions, etc. In all cases, the emphasis will be on the presentation of ethno-cultural characteristics. We also discuss the fact that the marketing of ethnocultural features and tourism itself is a function of the political and economic situation of the country concerned.

Drug use poses a significant global challenge, particularly impacting young people who, due to the vulnerabilities of adolescence, are especially susceptible to the dangers of various risky behaviors. This study presents the design and pilot phase of an innovative prevention method utilizing the escape room technique, specifically tailored for 15-16-year-olds. The interactive and experience-based environment aims to enable students to develop skills and strategies to resist drug use by engaging with realistic scenarios, while avoiding the shortcomings of punitive approaches (Bezençon et al., 2023; Botvin & Griffin, 2007). The escape room focuses on factors contributing to substance use – such as family issues, peer pressure, and emotional crises – and illustrates the process of addiction through the story of a 15-year-old teenager. This approach not only fosters prevention based on understanding but also provides students with valuable tools to develop healthy coping mechanisms.

This systematic review aims to synthesize existing literature on the prevalence of digital addictions among adults and adolescents, with a focus on age group differences. By examining studies published from 2019 to 2024, we will analyze prevalence rates across various digital addictions, including internet addiction, social media addiction, streaming addiction, smartphone addiction and online gaming disorder. Youth and adolescents have a somewhat higher risk for developing moderate to severe internet addiction, while adults show higher average levels of social media addiction. Moreover, adolescents show a significantly higher engagement in online gaming. These results support the necessity to age-specific strategies to address the digital addictions.

Countless profane and scriptural narratives recount conversions occurring under miraculous circumstances; however, little attention is given to individuals who, for various reasons, distance themselves from their religious communities. The central question of my study is what types of deconversion narratives exist among young people. Furthermore, my aim is to explore the motivations, reasons, and experiences underlying religious disaffiliation, as well as the exit strategies employed. The research focuses on Hungarian youth in Transylvania, utilizing narrative biographical interviews as the primary methodological approach. This study may open new perspectives in Transylvania, where the specific causes and consequences of the phenomenon of deconversion have not yet been the subject of sociological investigation. The findings are not only of interest to the academic community but also provide valuable insights for professionals working in pastoral care.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is playing an increasingly significant role in higher education, creating new opportunities for learning and teaching. This study examines the use of ChatGPT and other AI tools among students and faculty members at Sapientia EMTE. The research employed an online questionnaire survey (273 students) and semi-structured interviews (11 faculty members).

Our findings indicate that ChatGPT is the most popular AI tool among students, used primarily for learning support, information retrieval, and creative ideation. It is followed by DeepL and Grammarly, while ResearchGPT, Google Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot are less commonly utilized. Students from social science and economy fields demonstrate the highest proficiency in AI use, whereas students in the humanities and engineering sciences tend to use these tools less frequently.

Faculty opinions on AI tools are divided: some view them as innovative opportunities, while others express ethical and regulatory concerns, particularly regarding plagiarism and content originality. The study highlights the need for clear guidelines and faculty training to ensure responsible AI integration. The long-term impact of AI in education will largely depend on training strategies, infrastructure development, and ethical regulations.
